Yokohama does not have its own commercial airport. Instead, visitors fly into Tokyo International (Haneda) Airport (HND), located 20 km (30 minutes) away, or Narita International Airport (NRT), located 75 km (90 minutes) away, and complete the journey via train or limousine bus.
Yokohama has two major railway stations: Yokohama Station and Shin-Yokohama Station. Train lines of four railway companies and the subway line pass through Yokohama Station, which is located in the city center. Shin-Yokohama Station, on the other hand, is located outside of the city center, about ten minutes from Yokohama Station by the JR Yokohama Line or the municipal subway.
The shinkansen (bullet trains) stop at Shin-Yokohama Station.

Most parts of central Yokohama can be explored on foot. For example, it is very pleasant to walk from Minato Mirai along the waterfront to Yamashita Park, visiting Osanbashi Pier along the way, and then proceed from Yamashita Park to the nearby Yamate district or Chinatown.
For those who prefer not to walk long distances, there is the Akai Kutsu Loop Bus which connects Sakuragicho Station with most sights of interest in central Yokohama, and the Bayside Blue Bus which runs between Yokohama Station, Minato Mirai and other sights in central Yokohama. Buses run every 30-40 minutes, and the fare is 220 yen per ride or 600 yen for a day pass valid on all Yokohama City Buses.
To book a taxi in Yokohama, the GO Taxi App for the largest local fleet or the Uber App for a familiar English interface are recommended. Both apps connect you with licensed professional drivers, support cashless payments, and operate 24/7.

The dress code for the conference is business (jacket optional). Attendees are encouraged to wear smart office attire, such as shirts, blouses, trousers, skirts, or dresses. Ties are not required.
In September, Yokohama transitions from summer heat to mild autumn. Average daytime highs reach 27°C (80°F) and drop to a comfortable 21°C (70°F) at night. However, it remains humid, and it is a peak month for typhoons and high rainfall, averaging around 203 mm over roughly 19 days.
The currency in Japan is Japanese Yen and the Consumption tax (VAT) is 10%.
Major international airports, like Tokyo International (Haneda) Airport (HND) and Narita International Airport (NRT), have currency exchange counters offering both cash and traveler’s check exchange services.
US dollars, euros, and some other major currencies can also be exchanged at city banks and large post offices in Yokohama.
Additionally, currency exchange machines are available in various locations, including major train stations and some hotels, providing extended operating hours.
You can also withdraw cash in Japanese yen from your bank account using debit or credit cards issued in your home country. The ATMs at convenience stores (displaying the International ATM Service sign and logos of usable credit cards) allow you to withdraw cash 24 hours a day, making them extremely convenient.
While cash is still widely used in Japan, credit and debit cards (especially Visa, MasterCard, and JCB) are accepted in most hotels, large stores, and restaurants.
Please note that registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. We strongly recommend that all participants have adequate travel and health insurance to cover any medical expenses, cancellations, or travel disruptions that may occur while in Japan, particularly if you are not a Japanese resident. It is also advisable to have liability insurance (through your company), for the duration of your stay in Yokohama.

The voltage used throughout Japan is uniformly 100 volts, AC.
A convertible type of electrical appliance, such as a hair dryer, travel iron, or shaver, will therefore be handy; otherwise, a transformer is required to convert the voltage. There are no columnar-shaped plugs or 3-pin plugs used in Japan, but 2-flat-pin plugs are used instead. It is therefore advised to purchase a plug adapter beforehand if your devices use a different plug type.
